Geboren und aufgewachsen in der Wiege des Hip Hops, New York City, knüpft der Rapper früh Kontakte zu denjenigen, die das bereits schon geschafft, was der junge Joe sich für seine eigene Zukunft erhofft. Er ist per Du mit dem Wu-Tang Clan, zumindest mal mit den weniger bekannten Vertretern Inspectah Deck und Cappadonna. Außerdem beherbergt Joes Telefonbuch einige Nummern aus dem Shady-Camp und der Gang Starr-Foundation.
